What a magnificent sentence!
In Salento dialect, the phrase doesn't always have a solemn or poetic tone: it's often used in a light-hearted, self-deprecating way to convey that feeling of profound indecision... even when it concerns choices that are actually trivial.
👉 It is the heart that is divided between two possibilities.
It's a typically Salento way of taking even the smallest things seriously , with that hint of theatricality that makes you smile: because in Salento every choice, even the simplest, is lived "with all your heart"... or rather, with two. ❤️❤️
Saying “I have two hearts” therefore means admitting that you are in limbo , torn inside, as if it were a huge decision, even if ultimately it is about small things.
